FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What is ClipSpaceAI?
ClipSpaceAI is a private AI Clipboard Assistant for macOS. It stores useful clipboard history locally, detects clip types, and helps developers search, reuse, and explain supported copied content.
Is my clipboard sent to the cloud?
No cloud sync is enabled. ClipSpaceAI is designed around local clipboard history on your Mac.
Does ClipSpaceAI use OpenAI or cloud AI APIs?
No. ClipSpaceAI does not use OpenAI, Gemini, Claude, or cloud AI API keys as app features. AI actions use Apple on-device models where available.
Why are AI actions unavailable?
AI actions may be unavailable if the clip is sensitive-looking, unsupported, image-only, has no supported text content, or Apple on-device AI is unavailable on your Mac.
What clip types are detected?
ClipSpaceAI detects Code, JSON, URL, Email, Terminal Error / Log, Secret / Token, Image, Rich Text, and Plain Text.
How are sensitive clips handled?
Sensitive-looking content is detected locally and can be hidden or excluded from AI actions. This may include token-like text, passwords, OTPs, private keys, payment-card-like values, or content copied from excluded apps.
How do I clear clipboard history?
Open ClipSpaceAI Settings and use the clear history option where available. Deleting the app and its data also removes locally stored app data from your Mac.
Why is Foundation Models unavailable?
Availability depends on macOS version, device support, region, Apple Intelligence settings, and model readiness. When unavailable, ClipSpaceAI should show a fallback message instead of using a cloud model.
Is Demo Mode part of production?
No. Seeded Demo Mode is intended for debug/internal builds and hackathon recordings. It should not be treated as a production App Store feature.
Can I request a feature?
Yes. Email what you were trying to do, what felt slow, and what would have helped inside your clipboard workflow.
